Trey and I were curious about recent industry changes. The landscape has evolved significantly over the past six months. Adjustments like reduced meal options and restricted service choices have become standard. Additionally, there have been notable adjustments in first-class services.

Navigating Travel Procedures During COVID-19

I’ll need to give health declaration at Gates?  So much paperwork to do in order to fly right now. The airport is pretty quiet right now. It felt like we’re the only flights going. Don’t come to the airport too early because the Emirates lounge in the midfield concourse is absolutely closed. There is no lounge for Emirates Flight even premium passenger at the moment at Zurich. I’m using a credit card lounge in a moment. Its a feeling walking up the stairs.

Aboard Emirates Economy: Observations and Insights

Welcome on board. It’s been seven months since my last flight. Alright, it’s really empty on this flight. I’m not even surprised. There are very few people on board. That’s why I chose to fly in the economy today. There are only five and a half hours. Zurich, Dubai, the economy is being so empty. There’s very little reason to pay for Emirates business class for a short flight like this. Ladies and gentlemen, we may be fighting. It looks like we’re going to take, on a very short runway. We are only two and a half kilometers long. (airplane taking off) It was a very powerful take-off on runway two-way on the triple seven 300 because we were light. There are very few passengers on this flight.

That’s a travel hygiene kit. Okay. So you’re giving one by one to passengers now? One by one, I guess they don’t want people to touch it to reduce the contamination. This is very generous. There are five sanitizer gel packets in the hygiene kits.

There’s also a two mask and two gloves at different size. You guys probably have seen lots of wide angle rotating this blog.

Enhanced Emirates Airline Services: Cabin Innovations

We offer the best Emirates Airline current service. Now we have introduced one of our ladies on each flight over 1.5 hours, our cabin service assistant. Now we have them on all flights to take care of the lavatories throughout the aircraft and sanitize surfaces.

What else has changed? We feel hot now. More than before, the temperature was always a problem on board for the customers and the crew. Now it’s even more challenging with these things, but we’re coping. The bottom line is that we are very happy to be able to fly nowadays. We have to abide by the quarantine rules. Nevertheless, it’s nice to see our colleagues and people on board.

Reflections on Post-Pandemic Normalcy

And everything is slowly coming back to normal. The biggest thing I miss and everybody misses at Emirates Flight is the Airbus A380. We missed this airplane. Have you operated an A380 since Corona? I haven’t. I haven’t since COVID, but I do personally miss it a lot as well. It’s an exceptional aircraft and an exceptional experience. The feeling when you’re interacting, especially as a person able to go around such a huge aircraft and interact with so many people and crew, it’s like a village in the sky. It’s an amazing experience.

This is how we prepare for the light lunch meal option. We enter the cabin with the trolley. We serve the customers with linen, cutlery, and an additional bottle of water. This is what the tray setup looks like. Everything is covered, and customers have the option to keep the covers on or remove them. This person chose to keep the covers on. We are just waiting to heat the hot meal and the bread. So what are you cooking today? Today, sir, we have pan-fried beef tenderloin, chicken with vegetable bush, and spinach.

Sanitization Measures in Emirates First Class

So we do have a few changes in first class. As you can see, the notepad and the pen are wrapped in plastic. Everything is wrapped, and the aircraft is thoroughly sanitized. You can see this in the minibars as well; everything is filled and wrapped.

We’d like to showcase what we offer our first-class passengers. We still provide a variety of fresh bread in our bread basket. Additionally, we offer pre-plated salad, caviar, and other pre-plated dishes. The pillows are individually wrapped, as are the duvets and mattresses in first class. Business class passengers also receive mattresses; however, they are sealed. So we will offer it to the passenger now, and they will prepare their own bed.

Changes in Economy Class Catering

They used to have really good cheese and crackers in economy. With a maximum of 50 passengers in economy, the frequent changes in rules and flight closure requirements have deterred many from traveling. I knew that lots of people would want to travel, but the rules and regulations have really put them off. Now, we have very few people who need to fly. The government needs to work together with all the stakeholders in the airlines to figure out a way to provide safe air passage.

We are recommending mandatory COVID testing at the airport to ensure passengers are COVID-free before boarding. This could help open all borders. We are certainly interested in hearing your thoughts on how we can end this pandemic and restore confidence in travel. What advice can you give to travelers who are flying now?

Smooth Arrival with Pre-travel COVID Test

The little things matter the most. I mean, wash your hands and wear your mask every time. It’s the most important thing, and we always try to remind our customers and the rest of the crew to do the same.

Is it a card? It’s a card from all the crew members. And… yeah! That’s incredible. Thank you so much. I definitely will treasure this flight. It’s a very special COVID flight. A five-and-a-half-hour flight, very easy on the triple seven. Back to the heat, and hello, Dubai.

Okay, my bags are already waiting for me on the baggage belt. This time, the formality in Dubai was surprisingly fast. Thanks to the COVID test I have, I don’t need to take another test upon arrival. It’s pretty straightforward: just immigration, stamp the passport, then baggage claim, customs, and out.
